General Information

BUILDING AND SPACE INFORMATION:

Store Hours: Tue-Sat 11a-7p & Sun 11a-3p

Closed Mondays

Parking located behind the building

Backroom Workshop space:

500 sqft (only available during spring & fall)

Bookstore space:

1000 sqft

AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT:      

  • PA System: includes two speakers with stands, a mixer, two microphones & two mic stands
  • One Music Stand
  • 40 chairs
  • 4 6ft folding tables
  • 2 3ft tables

READINGS:

  • All sales go through the bookstore POS
  • If self-published or published through print on demand, the books must be provided to the bookstore and are sold at a 40/60 split (author receiving 60%) of retail given at the end of the event in the form of a check.
  • All readings include a promotional fee: $100 or $50 for self-published authors. Fee includes space rental (2 hr max or an additional $25 is added to the total for each additional hour) AV equipment, seating and/or tables, promotion on all Palabras social platforms and the biweekly Newsletter
  • Palabras does not create promotional material for events. Promotional materials must be provided at least four weeks prior to the event, including a flyer for Instagram and a banner for the Facebook event page with descriptions for the event details section of the Facebook event page or, a co-hosting invite to a Facebook event page that you create. If creating your own Facebook event page, please make sure to list Palabras as the location.

ALL OTHER EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS:

  • $25 per hour for backroom & $50 per hour for bookstore space, including setup & breakdown time. Exceptions may apply for free community-based events hosted by non-profits during normal business hours
  • All public events also include a $50 promotional fee.  Fee includes AV equipment, seating and/or tables, promotion on all Palabras social platforms and the biweekly Newsletter
  • Palabras does not create promotional material for events. Promotional materials must be provided at least four weeks prior to the event, including a flyer for Instagram and a banner for the Facebook event page with descriptions for the event details section of the Facebook event page or, a cohosting invite to a Facebook event page that you create. If creating your own Facebook event page, please make sure to list Palabras as the location
  • All Sales go through the bookstore POS with the exception of events with vendors, in which case 15% of total sales is required (in addition to promotional and space rental fee.)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Palabras is not open on Mondays and does not hold events on Mondays, private or public.
  • Palabras does not hold events after 9:30 pm.
  • Palabras does not hold readings after normal business hours: Tues-Sat 11a-7pm and Sunday 11a-3p
  • Please leave the space as you found it.
  • Any damage will be the responsibility of the point of contact for the event and must be paid within 7 days of the event.
  • Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
