LIVING IN KINSHIP: PLANTING AT PALABRAS

Our first Living in Kinship event will be Planting at Palabras on Saturday, September 17th from 9-11am. Planting at Palabras will be a day of communal dreaming, seed sowing and knowledge exchange and preservation.

Palabras Bilingual Bookstore is located on Akimel O’odham and ancestral Hohokam lands. Our intentions with the Ha:juñ (kinship) garden are to honor Indigenous ways of life, nourish our relationships with our community and the land, and develop our food sovereignty. We will have seeds and seedlings to plant, but feel free to bring seeds and seedlings. If the seeds are not used in the garden, they can be added to our seed library. Seedlings that don't end up in the garden can be exchanged between participants. We are prioritizing native heirloom varieties.

You may also want to bring a trowel, gloves. a water bottle and hat and wear sunscreen and light color clothing. Hope to see you all there

Our Living In Kinship workshop and event series focuses on reconnecting people and land. More events to come.
